Connect With Your Partner Now

Did you know that you can give your spouse the best presents, ample sex, and still miss the mark? Although your spouse may enjoy all these blessings, those may not be the ways that they feel loved by you. Here are three ways to create, strengthen, or maintain the connection between you and your partner.

The Way That They Love You

We often love the way that we want to be loved. Therefore, one of the very best ways to discover how your spouse likes to be loved is to notice how your spouse loves you. Oftentimes, we take these acts for granted or we feel entitled as if our spouse “should” treat us this way. However, your spouse is not obligated to do anything nice for you in your marriage. This means that every act your spouse does towards you is out of love. See if you can reciprocate it.

The List

Have your spouse to make a list of 10 ways that they like to be loved, then take the list and secretly do 6 of them per week without telling your spouse. Notice how their mood, openness, and closeness to you grow.

Make the Intangible, Tangible

Does your spouse always hold the door open for you? Does your spouse always communicate in a quiet calm way even during arguments? Do they forgive you even when you don’t apologize. They are your partner’s quiet way of showing you how much they love you. Even though they can’t be bought or purchased, they can still be gifts that continue to give countless rewards throughout your relationship.

Maintaining a relationship is not easy and it isn’t for the faint of hearts. There are so many little things that we grow desensitized to on a daily basis. Taking the time to notice how your partner likes to be loved and loving them in that way, can not only help prolong the life of your relationship, but also infuse new opportunities to connect and reconnect throughout the years.
